The Dragino DDS75-NB is a NB-IoT Distance Detection Sensor, designed for outdoor use (IP66). It measures the distance between the sensor and a flat object. The distance detection sensor is a module that uses ultrasonic sensing technology for distance measurement of 0.3m to 7.5m. Temperature compensation is performed internally to improve the accuracy of data. The measured values are uploaded wirelessly to an IoT Server via NB-IoT network.
You can use various IoT Servers and different uplink methods including MQTT, MQTTs, UDP and TCP.
The sensor node uses Quectel BC660K-GL Multi-band LTE Cat NB2 module which can be used in most European countries. It has a card slot for an NB-IoT SIM card. Ask your mobile operator about availability of SIM cards, coverage, frequencies used and login procedures. See for example Deutsche Telekom IoT and 1NCE.
This device supports BLE for easy configuration and wireless OTA to update the firmware.
DDS75-NB is powered by 8500mAh Li-SOCI2 battery for many years of use.
